RILEY THIBODEAU
COACH | DEFENSE | HITTING
Riley’s life has centered around softball since the age of 8, starting with recreational league, moving to tournament teams at age 11, and playing year round until starting on Gloucester High School’s varsity team while in eighth grade.
Riley started varsity every year she played from eighth grade until senior year. She played an integral role in her softball team’s deep run in the state tournament making it to the Division 2 state finals game. Riley always led by example, worked hard, hustled and grew as a player and leader each and every year. Her motivation and discipline was on full display when she won 2018 Offensive Player of the Year, 2022 Offensive Player of the Year and named an NEC All-Star in 2022.
“I believe that success both on and off the field starts with discipline. Dedication to improving your technique through repetition during practice translates on the field. Having the ability to execute during high pressure scenarios in a game begins with mental and physical toughness."
Riley didn’t take any reps off and it showed through her consistent play. Being a part of numerous teams and playing many positions throughout the years has taught Riley about the importance of versatility, team dynamics and how to be an asset in whatever way the team needs.
