KATIE BETTENCOURT

SOFTBALL ADVISOR

Head Coach Endicott Softball entering 7 season

Assisting players in recruiting process / Player Development / Hitting

Bettencourt enters her seventh year as the head softball coach at Endicott during the 2023-24 season.

she says of her ultimate coaching philosophy,

“My fundamental goal is to be able to help student-athletes not only become good softball players, but also exceptional students in the classroom and community,”

She likes to think of herself as an extension of the classroom, that she is a teacher of the game first and foremost. As a former student-athlete, she wants to pass on all of the positive experiences that she had to her student-athletes.

As for her recruiting mindset, she says, “I think most importantly you want good people, good human beings. I want to be around people where it’s an enjoyable environment but in terms of the softball aspect you want athleticism, coachability, and knowledge of the game.”

Bettencourt feels that the biggest thing about being part of a team is being able to be selfless, “That’s the biggest thing that I’ll be preaching, it is a team sport so being able to give yourself up for the team is my goal. Teams that win a lot are able to do that.”
