JILL BURGESS

PITCHING INSTRUCTOR

Jill Burgess started her pitching career in the 3rd grade. Jill's favorite pitch is her changeup, but she also heavily relied on her fastball, drop and riseball. Amongst many of her career accolades she was a 3 sport Agganis All-Star for softball, basketball and field hockey.

Jill learned at a young age that being a successful pitcher isn’t just a measurement of strength. Stepping on the mound is leading through hard work, mental toughness and having a profound softball IQ. Winning means keeping composure during inevitable breakdown innings, staying positive, and letting the batters and your team know you’re unbreakable, regardless of the highs and lows of the game. Your talent is as good as your ability to trust your team to make the big plays, understand where batters hit, what pitches they prefer, and ultimately using that knowledge to strike them out at the plate.

“My goal is to help young female athletes find their passion and unique abilities in pitching. Focusing on developing pitchers to strengthen our sports programs will also help these athletes develop key character traits that they will take with them beyond high school. As a mother of two I aspire for my kids to grow up with a successful sports program here in Gloucester."

Over the years Jill has given her time to help coach many programs and teams, such as The Storm, Legends Softball, youth softball, as well as varsity high school softball programs. Today, Jill is heavily involved in youth softball as a group and private pitching instructor.
